Sculpture Deapartment

The sculpture facility is equipped for woodworking, metalworking, and mixed media production. The woodworking studio has two large workbenches with vises, a tablesaw, bandsaw, drillpress, miter saw, jointer, planer, combination sanders, and a full complement of portable power tools, hand tools, and clamps. The metalworking studio has a coal fired forge with vise and anvil and is equipment for oxyacetylene, electric arc, and TIG welding. Metalwork facilities also include a bench grinder, a full set of welding clamps, and assorted prep tools. Both of these areas have exhaust hoods or fans to clean the air. The mixed media studio is used for all clay, stone, and plaster work and has storage lockers for student use. Workbenches, sculpture stands, and other necessary tools are available for student use. Personal protection equipment is provided for all processes. The sculpture studio also has a separate classroom for slide viewing and an outdoor concrete pad where large scale pieces are fabricated.
